In a small corner of the Farm Shop lives The Balloon Tree Bakery...
Our bakery is headed up by our expert Baker Simon. Through Simon’s time here he has taken the bakery from strength to strength and is now one of most illustrious parts of the business.
What the bakery sells on its shelves are tried and tested recipes, several of which have been perfected over the years since 2004 when we opened. There are weekly essentials such as lemon drizzle loaves or a classic Victoria sponge, but also some off the cuff specials like trifles in a jar or Simon’s luxury tiffin.
Everything is homemade on site, no cake mixes, no additives, just fresh flour, fresh eggs, and hard work.
Simon and his team are also on hand to help with anything more bespoke you are interested in whether it be a celebration cake or dietary requirements, they will do their very best to accommodate.
If you need an opportunity to try before you by, Simon houses a lot of what he sells through the shop in the café cake cabinet. Here he tests his recipes before integrating them into the shop or showcases his talents in some superb specials. Again, seasonality comes into play, and he uses some of our home-grown fruit when in season to produce his Wimbledon cake with homegrown strawberries or blackcurrant cheesecakes when he can.
