The land The Balloon Tree Farm Shop & Café sits on has been farmed by the Machin family for over 35 years. Although the Farm is now moving forward with through the seasons, father and son Balloon Tree founders Digby and Matthew still have regular input in growing methods and help plan the seasons ahead.
Our traditional growing techniques have aided in creating a notorious reputation for The Balloon Tree when it comes to the growing of strawberries and pumpkins. This gives the fruit and veg a unique and rich flavour which can only be produced in the growing conditions we are fortunate to have.
Although we are adopting new methods for our strawberries, we are managing to replicate and even improve on both the yield and quality of the fruit we produce, and under the watchful eye of of the Machin’s, there are even greater things to come.
